Based in Miami, FL & Elsewhere
Chelsea Julia Abella is a passionate Cuban American designer and artist with experience in architectural, interior, industrial, and graphic design.
Through environmental psychology, hand sketching, model building, and storytelling, she works to find creative solutions between humans and the interior environment. Chelsea finds inspiration in the stories within a project’s historical context, the psychology of color and texture, and the visual narratives of horror films. She works as an illustration artist and production designer, creating hand-drawn visualizations for local events to deepen shared memory.
Chelsea is motivated by the joy of community and her experience working with diverse, dedicated architectural teams as an interior designer. With a long-term role at an architecture firm specializing in public sector historic renovations and cultural centers, she implemented placemaking strategies and design details that reference stories interwoven in the fabric of Miami’s history. As an emerging professional, she is interested in the detail-oriented work of specification writing, project management, and transforming conceptual renderings into complete construction documents.
